She was a working barge, sailing and transporting goods just up to 1988, and then, after a trip to Alsace, was completely renovated and refurbished under the control of Berend Gozens,an expert, a river boat artist. Since then, La Vancelle has been the joy and contentment of her owners, Florence and Bernard Odinet. Today, she is waiting for you on the Canal du Midi, so that she can help you discover the freedom and joys of a canal cruise in the Midi. She is 22 metres (72 feet) long, which makes her easy to steer, and 4,30m, 14 feet, wide, which makes her comfortable. She is fully equiped for canal cruising; a 130 hp motor, a stern mounted propellor, a hydraulic steering wheel. And also all the comforts needed, a 4000 litre water tank, a water heater for hot water and heating, a cooker, an oven, a dish washer, a clothes washer and dryer, two fridges. For a touch of romance, there is also a piano on board.... A corner kitchen, dining room and living room, three cabins, two with double beds and one with twin beds, each cabin with its own bathroom, means that six people can be accommodated in full comfort. The furnishings and interior finish are most often in exotic hard wood and give an authentic "sailing" ambience. The crew have their own private cabin with bathroom at the front of the boatL

Our Cruise and Charter prices
A week on the Vancelle
From Saturday 4 p.m. Untill Friday after breakfast
Charters up to 6 guests:
Bed & breakfast : 6400 € / $ 8640
This price includes :
Voyage and lodging on the barge
Breakfast served by the crew
Two-member crew (pilot and first mate)
Taxes and Fuel
Option for 4 persons :
Half-board : 7200 € / $ 9720
Breakfast and one meal per day including wine
Open bar at captain choice provided
Picking up at the beginning and dropoff at the end of the cruise
at or near the predefined meeting point
PENICHE LA VANCELLE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
To confirm your reservation a deposit of 30% of the cruise cost is required.
Payment of the balance is due 60 days before the cruise date .
Deposits and final payments are not refundable.
La Vancelle retains the right to change cruise direction and navigation route, as necessary to accommodate bookings and navigation conditions in the canal.
In the event flooding conditions, lock closures or other circumstances prevent cruising on the canal, passengers will be accommodated on the stationary barge. Such conditions which are beyond the control of the owners cannot be used as the basis for cancellation nor refund of deposit or final payment.
The owners assume no responsibility for illness, injury, or inability of the passenger to cruise aboard the barge. Trip cancellation insurance is highly recommended.
